Stephanie Cobb teaches New Testament and early Christianity. Her current research interests focus on the interrelationship among paganism, Judaism and Christianity in the first and second centuries C.E. In particular, she works on martyrdom and persecution, gender and sex constructions in antiquity, and the function of texts in communities. In addition, her teaching interests include: magic and religion in antiquity, women in early Christianity, studies of the historical Jesus, the spread and growth of Christianity, and the battle between orthodoxy and heresy in early Christianity.
